Een nieuwe antropologische “SPOKEN”! Radiomaker en student antropologie Manu van Kersbergen wijdde onlangs weer een van zijn radioshows bij FunX aan een antropologisch thema. Deze keer interviewde hij antropoloog Francio Guadeloupe (RU&UvA) over zijn in boekvorm uitgegeven (CIDIN) pleidooi “Adieu aan de nikkers, koelies en makambas: Een pleidooi voor de deconstructie van het rasdenken binnen de Nederlandse Caraïbistiek”.

Zelf kondigt Manu de show als volgt aan: “Je kunt mensen indelen op wat ze verdienen, je kunt ze indelen op hun culturele achtergrond en, zoals vele mensen nog steeds vandaag de dag doen, kun je mensen ook indelen op basis van het achterhaalde begrip ‘ras’. Maar wat betekent dat begrip ‘ras’ nu eigenlijk? En op welke manier bestaat er een rassenrealiteit?
