Theologen, veiligheidsdeskun-digen, sociologen en anderen zullen allen heel eigen dingen proberen te begrijpen. Als mens word ik door het bloedbad aangegrepen, maar kan ik hier als antropoloog nog wat mee? Of word ik klemgezet door het cultureel relativisme van mijn discipline? “Wie alles begrijpt, zal alles vergeven” schijnt een wijs mens ooit gezegd te hebben, maar ook al wil ik proberen de daders te begrijpen, op dit moment kan ik hen moeilijk vergeven voor wat ze hebben aangericht, niet alleen in Parijs, maar ook voor verstoorde relaties wereldwijd.
